about me
I am an artist, art educator, and board certified art therapist, and a Connecticut-based licensed art therapist (CLAT) and associate counselor (LPCA). My approach is influenced by strengths-based and positive psychology, as well as methods of art-based inquiry designed by Pat Allen and Barbara Fish. My graduate thesis research, “Working from Scribbles,” involved using free drawings, sculpture, and poetry to help investigate feelings about my work in a turbulent, and sometimes violent, environment. To learn more about arts based inquiry, take a look at the book, Art is a Way of Knowing.
Aside from art therapy, my background is in experiential education and community building. I have worked with all ages, from very young children to seniors, in a variety of media. I often spend summers creating experimental, collaborative art making spaces for children and teens.
I feel energized from working with people and helping them achieve their goals. I can’t wait to hear from you!
